Grades K-3

Here are some games that we have played at school and you can play at home.  Ask a sibling or an adult to play with you.

Land on 10!

You can have 3 players in this game.  Players use only 1, 2, or 3 fingers to count.

How to play:

1.  Player 1 [decides how many fingers (1, 2, or 3) they want to use and] starts counting from 1.
2.  Player 2 [decides how many fingers (1, 2, or 3) they want to use and] counts on.
3.  Player 3 [decides how many fingers (1, 2, or 3) they want to use and] counts on.

The player who lands on 10 wins!

Card Fun!

You can have 2-3 players in this game.
Have an adult help you cut up a piece of paper into 14 pieces to make cards.

1.  Make two packs of cards and put the following numbers on them.

Pack X:  1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 0                                        Pack Y: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Put the packs in a pile face down on the table.

2.  Player 1 picks a card from Pack X.

3.  Player 2 picks a card from Pack Y.

4.  Player 3 adds the numbers on the cards, then says the answer.

5.  Players 1 and 2 check the answer.

6.  Player 3 gets one point if the answer is correct.  Take turns to pick cards and add.

After six rounds, the player with the most points wins.

What's Hidden?

You can have 2-4 players in this game.
Collect 10 small objects in your house (like coins, spoons, pens) and a sheet of paper.

1.  Player 1 chooses a number of items, places them on the sheet of paper and shows them to the other player(s).
2.  Player 1 hides some of them.
3.  The other player(s) figure out the number of items Player 1 hid.  Count on to find out.
4.  Check your answer.  Take turns to play.
